چکیده

This study was part of a project designed to simulate the long-term landform equilibrium rehabilitated mine site. The utilized event Fine Suspended Sediment (FSS) fluxes in receiving stream following rainfall as an indicator stability. aim this use HEC-HMS determine sediment and discharge quantity upstream how it affects downstream development catchment landform, terms changes geomorphology. Thus, focused on hydrology modelling upper with (Hydrologic Engineering Centre-Hydrologic Modelling System) daily output at outlet. used calibrate FSS quantities outlet observed continuous values. calibration model carried out for two water years then same parameters were validate third year. calibrated validated events against data run projected 50 years. denudation rate predicted by 0.0245 mm per year, which falls range previously determined region. simulated compared trends over As result, spikes rainfall-runoff gradually decreased time. Reducing indicates that attains can be simulations erosion quantify yield catchments time periods.

Integrated catchment modelling: an application to Molenbeek catchment, Belgium

Hydrological, hydrodynamic and water quality models are often used to simulate surface water in a correct way to be a good basis for decisions regarding the development and management of water resources. Molenbeek is one of the main tributaries of the River Dender basin (Belgium). The hydraulic model is implemented by using the MIKE 11 software of the Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI). It is a v...

Sediment delivery to the three gorges: 1. Catchment controls

The paper examines sediment yield and its response to catchment disturbance and environmental variables in the Upper Ž . Yangtze basin, where the attention of environmentalists has been drawn to the Three Gorges Project TGP . Information about the source and conveyance of sediment from the catchment area to the Three Gorges Reservoir has implications for management strategies. Methodologies for...

A Catchment-Scale Model of Road Erosion and Sediment Delivery

Unsealed roads and tracks are potentially significant sources of diffuse pollutants, particularly sediment. Identifying critical diffuse pollutant sources and their transport potential can greatly improve catchment-scale water quality management. This study describes the application and ongoing development of a road erosion and sediment transport model in the Moruya-Deua and Tuross River catchm...

Sediment fingerprinting to determine the source of suspended sediment in a southern Piedmont stream.

Thousands of stream miles in the southern Piedmont region are impaired because of high levels of suspended sediment. It is unclear if the source is upland erosion from agricultural sources or bank erosion of historic sediment deposited in the flood plains between 1830 and 1930 when cotton farming was extensive. The objective of this study was to determine the source of high stream suspended sed...

A sediment budget for the Ganga–Brahmaputra catchment

Published data are used to construct an approximate sediment budget for the 1.656 × 10 km catchment of the Ganga and Brahmaputra rivers. From these data, it has not been possible to identify the major sources of sediment. Recently published Nd/Sr tracer results suggest that the High Himalaya is the main source of sediment, providing for the first time a focus for more detailed research on the r...
